About Jean Harmon
My goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment that allows you to explore your pain or other symptoms which bring you to therapy. I feel privileged to be able to assist you in your journey through life's transitions. My strengths are helping clients manage stress, anxiety and depression, process issues related to sexual/gender orientation, and assist clients in recovering from grief and loss.
My style is informed by Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Client Centered Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, and Jungian Psychology. In addition, I have recently completed the Somatic Experiencing beginning level training. I have over 15 years of experience as a therapist.
In addition, I am also a Certified High School Counselor. I worked for over 28 years in the public school system as a high school counselor. I enjoy spending time with my family, as well as traveling, hiking, gardening, reading, and poetry.
I am a Missouri Master Naturalist and spend time volunteering and advocating for environmental concerns.
