ADHD & Executive Functioning Assessment

A comprehensive three-part assessment with a written report and personalized recommendations.

What is ADHD and executive functioning?

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a highly genetic, brain-based syndrome that has to do with the regulation of a particular set of brain functions and related behaviors. These brain operations are collectively referred to as "executive functioning skills" and include important functions such as attention, concentration, memory, motivation and effort, learning from mistakes, impulsivity, hyperactivity, organization, and social skills.

How is ADHD diagnosed?

Diagnosis is symptomatically driven. Diagnosis depends on self-awareness, subjective reports, and clinical observations of symptoms.

Why is a comprehensive assessment important?

ADHD can be very similar and co-morbid to many other disorders such as Anxiety, Depression, Mood Dysregulation, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Learning Disabilities. Differentiation between ADHD and other disorders improves accurate treatment plans and goals. Our comprehensive assessment includes screenings for these co-morbidities.

What can you expect from the assessment?

Assessment services are a three-part series.

  1. One hour in-person interview including the administration of assessments, a thorough interview of past and current symptoms and their impact, review of prior school and medical records.
  2. Clinician scoring of assessments, evaluation of diagnosis criteria, and report writing.
  3. One hour in-person follow up session to review results, recommendations for treatment, sharing of resources, and developing a plan. This session takes place approximately 3 weeks after the initial interview.

What happens after the assessment?

You will have a complete report with the testing results and individualized recommendations. You can send the report to a school or physician to follow up about next steps regarding academic or medical interventions. You can expect full support from your clinician as you put to practice the information gleaned from the assessment. This support may include counseling or coaching.

How much does an assessment cost?

The fee is $550. The fee includes the evaluation (approximately 1 hour), a written report including personalized recommendations and resources (1 to 2 hours of preparation), and a feedback session (approximately 1 hour).

Assessments are provided by Pam Fox, MA, LPC and Stefanie Pisarkiewicz, MA, LPC, both ADHD Certified Clinical Services Providers. For questions or to schedule an assessment, call 636-379-1779 or email info@sandhillcounseling.com.
